Audio/Video Recording Systems
The Town is pleased to announce the implementation of body worn cameras to its existing arsenal of cutting edge technology. In addition to having Panasonic Arbitrator in-car video cameras in all Patrol vehicles, the Town equipped all patrol officers with a Body-Worn Camera in July 2018.
The use of audio/video technology will enhance officer safety, promote professionalism and accountability, and assist with prosecution, which will cause a reduction in liability. RPPD utilizes the AXON Body2 System; body-worn cameras are officer-worn devices that attach to the officer’s outermost garment/vest.
